Looks like Geese are growing out of the ground like a plant. LOL. Halverson Lake, near Celebration Park, ID, along the Snake River. 30Apr2024. Two of them flew off to a nearby sandbank.

A pink Cornflower — a first for me! I have seen lots of blue and a number of white, but this is the first pink I have seen.

Walking down a road, I saw these holes in what was left of a dead, old tree trunk. Walking up close to the tree to look more closely at the holes, I was surprised by a Northern Flicker shooting out of the lower hole. “Sorry, guy!” I backed off, took some pictures of the Flicker …
And nearby, behind my back, were the GHOs children.
Then when I walked back by two hours later.
You can see the distinctive teeth marks.
