Red-eared Slider, Nest, and Tracks (3May2022)

A Slider starting the next generation. She was there for maybe 45 minutes. She was already at work when I came by the first time, and was still there maybe half hour later. When I came by at the 45 minute mark or so, she was gone.

I took some pictures, but kept my distance. Thankfully our phones have a good zoom feature in the camera nowadays.

Note how well she covered up her nest. You’d be hard-pressed to find the nest if you did not know ahead of time that it was there!

And she left some beautiful tracks!

And in the vicinity were maybe other nests recently made or some decoy nests.
